India vs Bangladesh, 3rd T20I: Complete Mismatch as India Whitewashes Bangladesh

On Saturday, October 12, 2024, at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad, India dominated Bangladesh to complete a 3-0 series whitewash with a massive 133-run victory.

India won the toss and opted to bat first, setting the highest team score by a Test-playing nation in T20I history with an incredible 297 runs. This total is also the second-highest total by any team in T20I cricket, trailing only the record of 278 runs set by Afghanistan against Ireland. Sanju Samson led the charge with a scintillating century, scoring 111 off 47 balls, including 11 fours and 8 sixes. His maiden T20I century came in just 40 balls and was a masterclass in power hitting.

Supporting Samson, Suryakumar Yadav contributed 75 off 35 balls, while Hardik Pandya smashed 47 off 18 balls. Riyan Parag also chipped in with a quickfire 34 off 13 balls, as India set several records:

In reply, Bangladesh struggled from the outset, finishing at 164/7. Litton Das (42 off 25) and Towhid Hridoy (56 off 37) provided brief resistance, but the result was never in doubt after Bangladesh lost Parvez Hossain Emon on the very first ball.

India’s bowlers were led by Ravi Bishnoi, who took 3 wickets for 30 runs, including a maiden over. Mayank Yadav contributed with 2 wickets for 32 runs, and Varun Chakaravarthy bowled economically, giving away just 23 runs in his 4 overs.

With this win, India recorded their highest victory margin against Bangladesh in T20Is and broke several other records:

Man of the Match: Sanju Samson for his explosive century

Man of the Series: Hardik Pandya for his outstanding all-round performance

India’s commanding performance in this series further solidifies their dominance in T20I cricket.
