UPSC releases Press Note regarding IFS (Main) Examination 2024

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will conduct the Indian Forest Service (Main) Examination, 2024, from 24th November, 2024 (Sunday) across India. e-Admit Cards will be available on the UPSC website (http://upsconline.nic.in) starting from 14th November, 2024. Candidates are advised to download and print their e-Admit Cards, which must be preserved until the final result declaration. No paper Admit Cards will be issued.

Important Instructions for Candidates:

  1. Admit Card and ID Requirements: Candidates must bring a printed copy of the e-Admit Card and a Photo ID (as indicated on the e-Admit Card) to the examination venue. Entry will be denied without these documents.
  2. Session Timings:
    • Forenoon Session: 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM
    • Afternoon Session: 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM
    • Entry will close 30 minutes prior to each session. Late arrivals will not be permitted.
  3. Verification of e-Admit Card Details: Ensure that the Name, Photograph, and QR Code on the e-Admit Card are correct. Report any discrepancies immediately to UPSC via email at soexam9-upsc@gov.in.
  4. Prohibited Items:
    • Banned: Mobile phones, smart/digital watches, valuable items, bags, books, and other electronic gadgets are strictly prohibited inside the venue.
    • Candidates must arrange their own storage for any such items outside the venue. The UPSC will not be responsible for any loss.
  5. Necessary Items:
    • e-Admit Card, Photo ID, black ballpoint pen, pencil, and required photos or documents as specified on the e-Admit Card.
  6. Disciplinary Actions: Any candidate found possessing electronic devices, notes, or prohibited items inside the examination hall may face disciplinary action, which could include:
    • Cancellation of candidature
    • Filing of an FIR or police complaint
    • Prohibition from further sessions of the exam
  7. Name Change Documentation: If a candidate has legally changed their name, they must bring government-issued photo ID and/or an original Gazette notification of the name change to each session, along with an undertaking at the time of the exam.
  8. Wrist Watches: Only basic wristwatches are permitted inside the exam room. Smart or digital watches are not allowed.

Candidates are advised to carefully read and follow all instructions provided with the e-Admit Card.
