In a major bust, police and narcotics officers in Noida uncovered a high-tech cannabis cultivation setup inside an apartment. The accused, identified as Rahul Chaudhary, was growing premium cannabis using advanced techniques within his rented flat.

Rahul Chaudhary, originally from Meerut district, set up a climate-controlled indoor farm in his flat using air conditioning. Police reported that he imported cannabis seeds through international websites like Seedsman and made transactions via PayPal. As a master’s degree holder in English, Rahul had advanced knowledge of the internet, which he leveraged to learn cannabis cultivation techniques and connect with potential customers.

The Arrest and Seizure
Following a joint operation by Noida Police, Narcotics Cell, and Ecotech-1 Police, authorities raided Chaudhary’s flat and seized:
- 2.07 kilograms of cannabis
- 163 grams of premium “OG” cannabis
- Specialized pesticides, fertilizers, and chemicals
- Potting equipment, weighing scales, and smoking paraphernalia
The plants, which were not for decorative purposes, were carefully cultivated with an estimated cost of ₹5,000–₹7,000 per plant. Each plant yielded around 30–40 grams of high-grade cannabis, valued at ₹60,000–₹80,000 in the black market.
Dark Web Supply Chain
In addition to cultivation, Chaudhary was reportedly supplying cannabis through the dark web, enabling him to reach a larger network of clients while evading detection. Using encrypted platforms, he was able to securely distribute his product, bypassing conventional sales channels.
