Amit Shah pointed to recent incidents, such as those in Sandeshkhali and R.G. Kar Medical College & Hospital, as indications of the insecurity faced by women in West Bengal. He assured party supporters that such problems would cease if the BJP assumes power in the next election.
BJP leader and actor Mithun Chakraborty echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the importance of increasing active party membership. He called for members who are willing to challenge the current leadership openly and assured the Home Minister of their readiness to confront any challenges.
Meanwhile, Suvendu Adhikari, the Leader of the Opposition in West Bengal’s Assembly, noted that the protests by junior doctors have lost momentum due to the influence of leftist factions. He remarked that while the initial stages of the movement were strong, the conclusion was lacking. Adhikari promised that the BJP would mobilize for a significant movement on this issue following Diwali.
