In the letter, PM Modi mentioned that he met Neeraj Chopra during a banquet held for the Jamaican Prime Minister’s visit to India, where Neeraj presented the choorma. Tasting it made the Prime Minister emotional, as it brought back fond memories of his mother. He noted the coincidence of receiving this dish just before the Navratri festival, during which he observes a fast. Modi stated that the choorma would be his primary meal before the fast begins, symbolizing the strength it gave him to serve the nation.
The Prime Minister also emphasized his commitment to empowering women and fulfilling the vision of a developed India, especially on the occasion of the festival of strength, Shakti Parv.
