CBI Files Case Against Railway Engineer After Recovery of 800 gm Gold Bars

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has registered a disproportionate assets case against a Senior Section Engineer of East Central Railway, Patna, following the recovery of 800 gm of gold.

The case originated from information provided by the Superintendent of Police, Buxar. During a police patrol, a four-wheeler was intercepted at the Dalsagar toll plaza. Upon searching the personal belongings of the car occupant, identified as the Senior Section Engineer, eight gold bars weighing 100 grams each were found hidden in a jeans trouser. The bars, with a purity of 99.50 fine gold, totaled 800 grams.

The accused failed to provide any receipts or vouchers for the gold or offer a satisfactory explanation for its possession. The car, along with the engineer and the driver, was subsequently taken to the police station for further investigation.
